The Robert and Leah Hemenway Foundation is an initiative aimed at supporting young writers of promise, especially from underrepresented communities, and seeks to fulfill small scale grants that support the creative writing communities not normally eligible. So far the foundation has funded creative writing awards for students of color, M.F.A. application fees for young female writers, and the publication of a student literary magazine during Covid.
